Well fuck my dog, it’s been a year on the west coast for good old me;
Subtitle: How I ended up at a brew pub at 2PM on a saturday.
Brief Recap.
August 2005
After finishing up at RIT in and around 1999, I decided that Rochester wasn’t for me. The next six or seven years were a painful exercise in a game I like to call
one more year
in which I would leave Rochester in
one more year
this brought us to August 2005, when The Shit™ was finally together, which means The Cat™ and The Stuff™ was shoved in a car (or at Elisabeth’s house) and off I drove across the country.
January 2006
Portland equaled The Awesome™. The job I had in Portland equaled The Suck™, and after a random email from a recruiter, I ended up in Redmond, WA, working for a software company you’ve probably heard of.
August 2006
Which brings us to the present. Seattle and Redmond never really gelled, and when you’re taking the train back down to Portland once, if not several, times a month, it’s probably best to move back.
I’ve been back in town a week and have a few weeks of official mucking about to make everything official. However, the fact that’s it’s 3PM on a Sunday and I’m half in the bag on Hawthorne probably indicate that I’m home again.
